Christmas 2021/New Year 2022

Just to be prepared 🙂

25th December is always a statutory holiday regardless of which day of the week it falls on ( it is the only one that is!) therefore there is no need to inform NHSE that you will be closed.

Sunday 26th December (boxing day) is not the statutory holiday so anyone with core opening hours on a Sunday would need to apply to NHSE if they wish to close, and anyone with supplementary hours will need to notify NHSE that they wish to close, by 26th September.

Monday 27th December and Tuesday 28th December are substitute bank holiday and you are not required to open, nor to apply to/notify NHSE if you wish to close.

Saturday 1st January 2022 is NOT the bank holiday, therefore anyone core opening hours on a Saturday would need to apply to NHSE if they wish to close, and anyone with supplementary hours will need to notify NHSE that they wish to close, by 1st October.

Monday 3rd January is the substitute bank holiday and you are not required to open, nor to apply to/notify NHSE if you wish to close.
